Coming along…

I ran about 3 miles on the treadmill this morning, slowly and with very little discomfort. Wonderful. Walking afterwards felt as if the ankle was never sore at all. It does become sore and tight shortly after and until the next round however, but that too is lessening daily. Excellent. I may go do a few more miles in the late afternoon to try and keep it loose.

I read Dean Karnazes’ Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner and was simply amazed at the endurance our bodies are capable of and the testament of a truly iron will. This blurb can not begin to convey the enormity of the man’s accomplishments. If you decide to check out these finely crafted tales about some of them, you won’t be disappointed.

Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner

I guess I will have to check out his latest book 50/50: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days- and How You Too Can Achieve Super Endurance!. I have seen the movie about the 50-50-50 event (the final 50 is for the 50 states (of America) he ran the marathons in…) and enjoyed it very much and if this book is as well written as the first, I’m sure it will be enjoyable too.

EDIT- I ran 3 more in the afternoon, felt good!
